The one skill for the AI era
Those who master meta-skills will thrive.
👋 Good morning/evening (wherever you are). It’s Friday.
At the Acropolis in Athens, DeepMind CEO and Nobel laureate Demis Hassabis forecast the emergence of artificial general intelligence within a decade and argued that cultivating meta-skills, defined as accelerated learning and adaptive reasoning, is essential to navigating an AI-centric economic and political order.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis warned that without intentional distribution frameworks, accelerating technological capability will concentrate leverage and deepen structural inequality.
Without deliberate global governance, AGI will concentrate power faster than any technology in history.
OK let’s keep going ↓

PS: If you’re passionate (and obsessed) about AI creative…guess what?! I just launched an AI creative club. It’s only $5/month. Skip the Big Mac and use it for this instead. I’m serious, you’ll thank me later. Click here to join.

Lion’s AMA is closed but archived forever. I asked him 7 questions. I’m re-reading his answers tonight, and they lit a fire in me to work all weekend. No time to waste.

🧠 Thought starters
Models are evolving from static predictors to dynamic reasoning systems.
Longer inference cycles allow them to search, verify, and refine answers in ways training alone couldn’t achieve.
This makes compute strategy a core differentiator: the best teams will orchestrate reasoning depth and cost to unlock automation and insight that others can’t reach.
