Let’s play a game of two truths and a lie.

1. Trump said “The Catholics loved it” about the viral AI image of him as the Pope.

2. OpenAI says its nonprofit will continue to control its business.

3. Star Wars revealed one of their AI-generated video tests at a TED Talk.

They’re all true. And the last one says a lot about where film is headed.

The numbers:

• CoreWeave officially acquired AI developer platform Weights & Biases for $1.7B, marking a major push into software as it ramps up $10B in data center spend for 2025.

• Anysphere, the startup behind Cursor, raised $900M at a $9B valuation from Thrive Capital, a16z, Accel, and others.

• Doppel, an AI platform for social engineering defense, raised a $35M Series B led by Bessemer Venture Partners.
