OpenAI acquires Sky, an AI interface
The team behind Apple’s Shortcuts app
👋 Good morning or evening, wherever you are. It’s Thursday.
OpenAI has acquired Software Applications Incorporated, the creators of Sky, a natural language interface for macOS and the team behind Apple’s Shortcuts app. The group previously sold its Workflow app to Apple in 2017.

Sky brings context awareness to the desktop, allowing AI to understand what’s on your screen and take action using your apps.
OpenAI plans to integrate Sky’s macOS craftsmanship into ChatGPT, bringing AI closer to the tools people use every day.
Nick Turley, VP and Head of ChatGPT, said the acquisition “accelerates our vision of bringing AI directly into the tools people use every day.”
Ari Weinstein, CEO of Software Applications Incorporated, added that “with LLMs, we can finally make computers more empowering, customizable, and intuitive.”
This marks a shift toward experiences that feel native, not layered on.
OK let’s keep going ↓

🧠 Thought starters
3 things to think about…
1.) We’re one feature update away from couples therapy with ChatGPT.
It already reads your tone, remembers context, and mirrors your rhythm. The next step is emotional intelligence at scale.
We're shipping company knowledge for ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu: it brings all the context from your apps (Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, etc) together in ChatGPT so you can get answers that are specific to your business.

2.) AI teams and iBankers finally found common ground — hallucinating at work.
Both are optimizing reality under pressure, chasing gains just out of reach.
But the distinction still matters. Banking manipulated numbers, and AI manipulates perception.
New: Across Silicon Valley, AI researchers are putting in 80-100 hour workweeks to keep pace with technological progress.
Several compared it to war, and one executive even joked that the new work schedule is "0-0-2," midnight to midnight with two hours off.

3.) We’re in the Will Smith Spaghetti stage of AI games.
The work looks ridiculous until it doesn’t. Every experiment is a sign of a new medium figuring out what it can be.
AI games are going to be amazing
