AI will write 100% of code

Within 12 months

đź‘‹ Good morning/evening (wherever you are). It’s Wednesday. Unsurprisingly, AI founders continue to hype up their own products:

Whether you believe it or not…it gets you thinking, right?

OK let’s get back on track ↓

Here’s what you should know:

  • Google calls Gemma 3 the most powerful AI model you can run on one GPU

These are our most advanced, portable and responsibly developed open models yet. They are designed to run fast, directly on devices — from phones and laptops to workstations — helping developers create AI applications, wherever people need them.

  • Gemini Robotics brings AI into the physical world

Today, we are introducing two new AI models, based on Gemini 2.0, which lay the foundation for a new generation of helpful robots. The first is Gemini Robotics, an advanced vision-language-action (VLA) model that was built on Gemini 2.0 with the addition of physical actions as a new output modality for the purpose of directly controlling robots. The second is Gemini Robotics-ER, a Gemini model with advanced spatial understanding, enabling roboticists to run their own programs using Gemini’s embodied reasoning (ER) abilities.

  • Luma introduces Inductive Moment Matching (IMM)

Today we are introducing a new method, Inductive Moment Matching (IMM), a pre-training technique that not only delivers superior sample quality compared to diffusion models but also offers over a tenfold increase in sampling efficiency. In contrast to consistency models (CMs), which are unstable as a pre-training technique and require special hyperparameter designs, IMM employs a single objective with enhanced stability across diverse settings.

  • China's Manus AI partners with Alibaba's Qwen team in expansion bid

Manus announced a strategic partnership with the team behind tech giant Alibaba's Qwen AI models, a move that could bolster the artificial intelligence start-up's roll-out of what it called the world's first general AI agent.

  • Taco Bell and AI agents?

YUM Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell and operator of 60,000 restaurants worldwide, has unveiled an AI-powered restaurant manager with the aim of bringing agentic AI capabilities to fast food.

  • Steve Harvey Using AI Protection Platform Vermillio to Guard Against Unauthorized Use of His Image

“In today’s digital age, keeping up with the scammers using my likeness across all of the platforms is an impossible task,” Harvey said. “My primary concern is to make sure my fans don’t fall victim to these schemes. Partnering with Vermillio gives me the tools to both protect my personal brand and more importantly, my fans while embracing the future of AI the right way – with consent and control.”

  • Moonvalley releases a video generator it claims was trained on licensed content

Named “Marey” after cinema trailblazer Étienne-Jules Marey, the model was built in collaboration with Asteria, a newer AI animation studio. Marey was trained on “owned or fully licensed” source data, according to Moonvalley, and offers customization options including fine-grained camera and motion controls.

Let’s focus on SXSW YouTube clips — watch these 2

FYI, here’s a research paper I’m diving into: MovieAgent: Automated Movie Generation via Multi-Agent CoT Planning. I can tell you that many different teams right now are focused on creating AI agents for extended video (e.g., shows, movies, etc.)…imo it’s going to take a while, not necessarily because of tech limitations…mainly due to legalities + social acceptance.

Also, before I forget, save this link to watch GTC March 2025 Keynote with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang — kicks off March 17.
